I don't mind the cost as I can write it off, and having a quick program with sliders makes the turn around easier. Luminar seems to have many tools that could really improve my images as landscapes and travel photography are my passion, such as better sharpening, but as I am developing my photography business I need to become more rounded. I recently got into event photography and there are many situations where flash is not an option and I need to denoise, which Lightroom does not do well. Lightroom is great, but I have pretty much mastered it and I feel like there is more I could be doing with my images. ![]() It just seemed like a plugin/ software that could be a good edition to my workflow. ![]() I don't have my mind set on Luminar at all. I'd love to sell you or give you all my Skylum/Macphun software, but they don't allow transfers. But we don't know what you specifically need. If you want something specific, there are other plugins that are better than what Skylum produces with better support. But once you invest in learning it, you're set. Since you've got Classic I believe your time and money is better spent on learning how to use Ps to do anything Luminar can do. Now I find it rather hilarious they're once again touting plugins for Lr.I guess they decided they couldn't surplant it after all. I hung in all the way until their overblown promises for a DAM, which when it finally hit was almost nothing of use. And of course it was a ka-ching upgrade fee each time. And they abandoned the Creative Kit stuff even though obviously the functionality was absorbed into those other applications. ![]() Especially the Tonality Pro one for BW.īut then Maphun skipped ahead to Aurora. Sure, you could do everything they did in Lr and Ps, but they were handy. They had some nice plugins designed for Lr and Ps called the Creative Kit. I've used their products since they were Macphun.
